1. Different ways of calculating capacity

1.The capacity printed on the box uses 1TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (decimal / 1000-based).
2.Your computer calculates using 1TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes (binary / 1024-based). Because of this, a “1TB” SSD usually shows around 930–950 GB in Windows. This is universal across all brands.

2. A small portion is reserved by the SSD itself We keep some space for firmware, wear leveling, error correction, spare blocks, and performance optimization. This helps the drive last longer and stay reliable.

The P50 uses USB 3.2 Gen 2 × 1 standard on both the USB-A and USB-C connectors. Whether you connect the USB-A end or the USB-C end to your computer, you will get the full speed of up to 1050MB/s.

There is no difference in performance between the two heads we didn’t make one faster than the other. Just make sure Your computer/port also supports USB 3.2 Gen 2 (or higher).

The official speed is measured under ideal lab conditions. In daily use, it’s very common to see lower speeds. Here are the most common reasons:

1.Your computer’s port doesn’t support USB 3.2 Gen 2 (10Gbps)

If you plug into a USB 2.0 port → max only ~35–40 MB/s
If you plug into a USB 3.0/3.1 Gen 1 (5Gbps) port → max only ~400–450 MB/s

2.The drive is almost full or highly fragmented SSD and portable SSD performance drops noticeably when remaining space is less than 10 ～15%. Try to keep at least 30% free space for best speed.

3.The file types you’re transferring are small or fragmented Transferring thousands of small files (photos, documents, game folders) will always be much slower because the bottleneck becomes random performance, not sequential speed.
