Q1: Why is the actual usable capacity of my SSD a bit less than what's written on the box?

This is completely normal and happens with every SSD, USB drive, and hard drive (not just addlink).

Different ways of calculating capacity. The capacity printed on the box uses 1TB = 1,000,000,000,000 bytes (decimal / 1000-based).
Your computer calculates using 1TB = 1,099,511,627,776 bytes (binary / 1024-based). Because of this, a “1TB” SSD usually shows around 930–950 GB in Windows. This is universal across all brands.

Q2: Why am I only getting 400–1000 MB/s instead of 2000+ MB/s?

99% chance you’re not using a 20Gbps port.
 • Old black USB → max 40 MB/s
 • Blue USB or normal USB-C → max 400 ~ 1000 MB/s
 • Only USB-C ports marked “SS 20” → full 2000+ MB/s Switch to a port that says 20Gbps and watch the speed double instantly!

Q3: Can I plug the P21 directly into my iPhone 17 or Android phone?

Yes! Just use the USB-C end plug and play. You can back up photos, watch 4K movies, or even record video straight to the P21 to save phone space. No adapter needed.

It gets warm (like your phone when it’s working hard), but it’s totally safe. The metal body cools it down fast. If it ever gets really hot, it will slow down a tiny bit by itself to protect the drive  that’s a feature so it lasts for years.
